PATH-BREAKING JUDGEMENT
CAN MAN PLAY GOD????
The Supreme Court in its path- breaking Judgment totally disallowed Euthanasia for terminally ill people or those in vegetative form, but , allowed passive Euthanasia in exceptional cases.Passive Euthanasia would now be the law of the Land until parliament enacts a suitable legislation to deal with the entire gamut of the issue The million Dollar question is how can we decide who deserves an active or passive Euthanasia? There is bound to be misuse of it when it involves a substantial amount of financial assets. How are we going to monitor the correct use of it? Financial inability to treat a patient does not mean that a human life must be taken away. How can we decide after many years of being terminally prolonged illness a person will die or not? There are cases of recovery of persons who were in coma for many years or in vegetative forms.
The protagonists of Euthanasia define the Right to live means to live with dignity. This is not the case with Aruna Shanbaug. She has been in the vegetative form for the last 38 years, unable to decide anything for her. One of her friends found her to be the fit case for Euthanasia whether it`s passive or active. But the moot question is, whether, can anyone take a decision to end somebody`s life who can not take a decision. “When Man can not give life he cannot take it “observes the Apex Court. The Supreme Court judgement highlights a significant legislative lacuna in this area
Passive Euthanasia means a wilful act of killing a patient deliberately removing the medical life supporting system which is very agonizing. Aruna should have been allowed to go to her heavenly abode and enjoyed eternal bliss but the Court upheld the right to live.
Man can not play God. Should Indians have a right to die? Should we not allow an incapacitated person to end his or her enormous amount of pain and suffering? If it alleviates the suffering what is the wrong in it?. Some countries in Europe such as Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and a few others assist to a certain extent, a patient to commit suicide. Many people travel to these countries to end life through assisted suicide.
Is legalized Euthanasia set a precedence to misuse? Many doctors stoop to do anything for money. Some times a doctor may convert a patient`s life in to a vegetative form. India is a slow country and a society which is not broadminded and educated may pamper the concept of “Get well soon “.Medical advances give hope to terminally ill.
Some doctors admit that passive Euthanasia is being practiced even today on a clinically dead person who wanted to part with his vital organs. Is Aruna`s case exceptional? What is applicable to Aruna is also applicable to others. The Court has taken a nuance position. There should be a National debate to reach a National consensus .Till then we shall wish Aruna “Get well soon”.
As for me, they are part and parcel of our society so they should be taken care of .One should adapt to their system of living. It is a tribute to humanitarian care and nursing. May God grant them good health, happiness and care. May God bless us also with good health.

ALL Alone
On this island in the Universe,
I feel alone and desolate.
A broken heart is like a broken seashell,
It can't be repaired and nobody wants it for his collection.
A love so long ago lost,
I begin to doubt if he will ever return
His heart now wonders the shores of another ocean,
A new wave touches his soul,
And a new air fills his heart.
I feel alone and desolate.
The waters pick up my broken pieces.
For awhile I float,
In time I sink to the dark abyass.
No one can travel to pull me up.
The pressure pulverizes my pieces,
I become the sand,
Just a tiny grain to him,
Forever looked past .....
I feel alone and desolate.
A broken heart is like a broken seashell,
It can't be repaired and nobody wants it for his collection.
A love so long ago lost,

DARKNESS OF HEART
Sitting in the dark
Moonbeams on my face
The arrow hit its mark
Feeling so alone; feel so out of place.
Desperately seeking answers but no one to ask
Life now seems to be an ill-burdened task .
Helplessly wearing my heart on my sleeve
Constantly praying that pain would soon leave.
Drops of Sadness falling from my eyes
Broken dreams covering the blackened skies.
Wanting to run so far ,far away
Wishing that Oblivion would greet that dawing day .
Moonbeams on my face
The arrow hit its mark
Feeling so alone; feel so out of place.
Desperately seeking answers but no one to ask
Life now seems to be an ill-burdened task .
Helplessly wearing my heart on my sleeve
Constantly praying that pain would soon leave.
Drops of Sadness falling from my eyes

SUN SET
She looks at her world , the tears fill her eys .
She thinks she should be happy , yet still she cries .
Theemptiness fills herand thatthat she can' thide .
She tries to bury the longing down deep inside .
She tries to get along through another long day .
Yet she wonders ,there just hasto be another way .
Is this all that life was supposed to be .
She knows there is much more that she truly needs
Yet she remains silent until the very end .
The broken dreams she just can 't seem to mend
The Sun is setting , it 'sgetting very late .
She prays to GOD ," Please don 't let the love turn to hate ."
